Temiskaming Shores sits on Wabi Bay at the top of Lake Timiskaming, the long, deep lake that forms part of the Ontario and Quebec border. Boating here means open water, wind that can build down the length of the lake, and a season that starts later and ends earlier than it does in North Bay. That is hard on canvas. A loose cover flaps itself apart, and a worn top lets the rain in on the first cool evening.
Lavigne's has been making marine canvas on Booth Road since 1995. For a boat that lives up the lake, the most useful thing we can do is get the fit right the first time. Every custom boat cover and bimini top or enclosure is measured with a Prodim Proliner digital system and cut on a CNC table, and the pattern stays on file. If you need another cover in ten years, we already have your boat's shape.
If you are already making a trip to North Bay, a drop-off is often the simplest route: the boat on the trailer, or just the seats and cushions in the back of the truck. If you would rather we come to you, we will quote the measuring trip to New Liskeard, Haileybury or Dymond separately so you know the full cost before you decide. Either way, you get one shop for the whole boat, from the floor to the top.
All eight services are available to Temiskaming Shores customers, either at the North Bay shop or on a quoted trip up Highway 11.
Pontoons are a natural fit for the sheltered water around Wabi Bay. If the tubes and deck are still solid, we can redo the seating, flooring, top and audio in one shop on one timeline. Trailer it down to Booth Road and the whole boat comes back finished.

A boat on Lake Timiskaming needs a cover that stays put when the wind comes up the lake. We build mooring, travel and winter covers from your boat's own Proliner measurements, so the cover hugs the hull, sheds snow and does not flap loose on the long tow home.

The lake is big enough that a cool wind can turn a sunny afternoon chilly fast. A bimini gives you shade, and a camper top or full enclosure with clear windows lets you keep using the boat into the shoulder weeks of spring and fall.

Seats and cushions are easy to bring down without the boat. Pull the helm chairs, bow cushions or pontoon lounges and drop them at the shop. We also recover car, truck, snowmobile and ATV seats, which matters in a town where sleds come out as soon as the boats come in.

Wet feet, fishing gear and sand from the beach wear out boat carpet quickly. SeaDek gives you soft, non-skid foam on the swim platform, casting deck or full cockpit, and woven vinyl suits pontoon decks. Each piece is templated to your boat and can carry a name or fish ruler.

Homes and businesses along Lakeshore Road and the New Liskeard waterfront get plenty of sun and glare off the water. Awnings are always measured on site, so for Temiskaming Shores we quote the trip with the job. Retractable deck awnings and drop-arm window awnings are the usual picks.

A broken zipper or a cloudy window should not cost you a new top. Bring the canvas down to North Bay, or ship it with someone heading south, and we will replace zippers, snaps and clear vinyl, patch tears and re-stitch sun-rotted seams. If it is past saving, we will tell you.

The area has its share of farms, camps and side-by-sides, and they all need covers that hold up outside. We pattern and sew UTV cabs, sled enclosures, equipment and trailer covers, tarps and one-off pieces on industrial machines. Send photos and measurements first and we will quote it.

Lac Témiscamingue runs about 110 km along the Ontario and Quebec border as part of the Ottawa River, with depths over 200 m. A lake that long and open gets real wind and waves. Covers need to be snug enough not to catch air, and tops need solid fittings and tight seams to stay quiet and dry.
The City runs the Haileybury Marina on Farr Avenue, on the west shore of the lake, with 66 slips, fuel, pump-outs and a free launch nearby. Boats that sit in a slip all season take the full sun and rain, which is exactly where a fitted mooring cover keeps the cockpit and seats clean between trips.
On Riverside Drive near the mouth of the Wabi River, beside downtown New Liskeard, the City's second marina has 82 slips with water and power and a free launch next door. Seasonal boats here come out in mid-October, so a good winter cover or storage cover is worth having ready before then.

When the work is done, pick it up in North Bay or plan the install with us. Your Proliner pattern stays on file, so a future cover or top can be made without measuring again.

Travel is quoted separately for Temiskaming Shores. Before anyone drives up Highway 11, we will tell you what the measuring or install trip costs, along with the price of the work itself. If you would rather skip the trip cost, you can bring the boat, cushions or canvas to the Booth Road shop in North Bay and we will measure it there.
Yes. Trailering the boat down from New Liskeard, Haileybury or Dymond and leaving it with us avoids the travel charge. Call ahead to book a drop-off time during shop hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. We will measure it on the Proliner, go over fabric and colours with you, and let you know when it is ready to pick up.
A cover holds up to wind when it fits the hull properly and is tied down well. Each cover is measured on your boat with a Prodim Proliner, cut on a CNC table and sewn from marine fabric, with straps and snaps placed for your boat. A tight cover does not catch air or flap, and that flapping is what wears most covers out.
Photos are a good place to start. Send pictures of the boat, the worn seats or the damaged canvas, plus the make, model and length if you have them. We can usually tell you what is involved and give you a rough idea before you make the drive. A firm quote comes once the boat or piece has been measured.
Yes, and for Temiskaming Shores customers it is often the easiest way to go. Helm chairs, cushions, sun pads, tops, covers and enclosures can all come off the boat and travel in a truck or car. Label what came from where, drop it at 102 Booth Rd, and we will repair, recover or rebuild it in the shop.
